I don’t mean be politically correct all the time. Just don’t take yourself so goddamn seriously and treat others the way you’d want to be treated, whether they’re man, woman, both, neither, white, black, brown, yellow, green, fat, thin, rich, poor, or any permutation of the above.

I’m serious. I am sick of being told I can’t see/understand things because of conditions I didn’t choose. That I’m white, male, middle-class, and educated does not guarantee anything about my character, nor does it make me or my thoughts any less valuable. So stop dredging the words and work of people based solely on their meeting those conditions for reasons to demonize them.

Hate in the name of combatting hate is still hate. If you’re dragging someone else down for looking a certain way, that’s hate. Yes, even if they once did the same to you.

Be the bigger person. Don’t pass it on. It starts with you.
